𝐌𝐫. 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐚𝐢 𝐋𝐮𝐤 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐲𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐚𝐝. Before becoming an entrepreneur, 𝐋𝐮𝐤 worked for several multinational companies that spanned across Malaysia, Singapore and Canada. Afterwards, he took the entrepreneurial plunge when he open a small newsstand by the car park in a shopping mall. That 200 sqft traditional newsstand has now grown into a company that operates over 600 retail outlets in Malaysia, along with the brands myNEWS, Korea’s CU, the UK’s WHSmith, SUPERVALUE minimart and MARU café. The company has also diversified into large scale fresh food production by partnering with renowned Japanese businesses.

Mr. Dang Tai Luk, the 2019 EY Entrepreneur of the Year, grew up in a family of rubber tappers in a small village in Ayer Tawar, Perak and attributes his success to his parents' tenacity and their insistence on education. Like his parents, he is passionate about changing lives through education. The CSR program he founded, "Allowances That Allow (ATA)", supports underprivileged students with a monthly allowance in the years leading up to major examinations.
