I'm excited to share that I am running for Honorary Mayor of East Hillsborough County - a beloved, non-political tradition that raises funds for local nonprofits. And I would love for you to be part of this incredible journey with me!My name is Abi Merkle. I've proudly called Hillsborough County home since graduating from the University of South Florida - GO BULLS!I'm married to Phil, a detective with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, and we have two amazing sons, Kyle (Bloomingdale Senior High alum) and Ty (Durant High School alum), both of whom were (Kyle) and are (Ty) college athletes.In 2015, after more than 20 years in corporate retail advertising, I launched AM Design & Services, a creative agency helping businesses with branding, strategy, and social media. This year, we're celebrating 10 years in business - a milestone I'm incredibly proud of!As part of my campaign, I'm raising money for two outstanding organizations doing meaningful work, let me introduce them.We Are The Essentials (WATE)A team of former military and law enforcement professionals who assist families in locating missing or endangered loved ones. You may have heard of them - they were involved in the high-profile Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie case.
