Recently nominated twice by Broadway World in the categories Best Director and Best New Show,One In A Million Cabaret featuring the Jazz Catz New York),Kevin Davis is an award winning African American composer, director, piay-wright, and musician. At the age of 13 he began his artistic journey when he was chosen to participate in a theater arts program for gifted children at Carnegie Hall.In 2012, he formed Kevin Davis Productions, LLC in order to produce theater that will inspire and impact the culture ,as well as, illuminate the lives of those too often left behind. His show One In A Million Musical, for which he wrote the book and music, was showcased November 2017 and 2022 to acclaim from critics, Broadway Producers and theater patrons.Dramatists Guild member Amy Drake hired him to direct her work , Somewhere I Can Scream, that was scheduled to be staged at the Players Theatre in NYC in April of 2020. It was placed on hold due to the pandemic. Kevin composed the score for Greyson Matters, a new musical scheduled to open in London at Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Other Place Theatre in July of 2020. It too was put on hold due to the pandemic. He directed the streamed reading of Saints Under Glass: Mystic or Martyr for the League Of Professional Theatre Women. He is also working on a reboot of his original shows One In A Million Musical and God Remembered Hanna.Kevin is currently the Creative Director for two musicals under development which are 50,000 Mules and Happy To Be Me Brandy. He also recently directed the play White Russian which was performed at the SOOP to Nuts play Festival. His band, The JazzCatz, will be featured this summer at the prestigious Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival.As a former Vice President of corporate finance, Kevin has fused his passion for the arts with his long time understanding and commitment to enhance project ROI. He sees the arts as an avenue of influence and recognizes there would be no art or creativity of any kind without God.
