One of the oldest art clubs in the nation,The Frederick Art Clubwas founded in Frederick, Maryland, in August 1897. Originally a small league of women art students, it has evolved into a Frederick institution that now has more than 125 members who share an interest in the arts. Dedicated to enriching the cultural life of the community, the club supports the arts through educational programs, exhibitions, and preservation projects. One of our recent and memorable projects was the commission and unveiling of a larger-than-life bronze sculpture of world renowned fashion designer Claire McCardle which graces the Carroll Creek Linear Park in her hometown of Frederick, Maryland ensuring that her influence on fashion and women’s history is remembered for generations to come.
