Medicare Mental Health Centre Parramatta offers free mental health support to the Western Sydney community aged 18 and above! We are a primary level mental health service funded via the Primary Health Network (Wentwest) and Department of Health. We offer 3-6 months of therapy and psychological support via our team of Psychologists, Social Workers, Counsellors, Drug and Alcohol clinicians, Psychiatrist, Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Peer Workers and other support staff to work on the biopsychosocial wellbeing of consumers. We work with moderate to severe mental health presentations in a primary level capacity both through 1-1 appointments and in groups. There are no requirements for any existing formal diagnoses or referrals (i.e. no MHCP required!). Clients do not need a visa status (i.e. can be international students or refugees/ on protection visa) or access to Medicare to see us, which we hope increases the accessibility for consumers to mental health services in a timely and supportive manner.We offer:- Support and advice in navigating and connecting you with ongoing local mental health services- Immediate, short- and medium-term mental health and wellbeing support- Access to translating and interpreting services- Engagement with social and community groups
