The musical project amarElas emerged amongst female Brazilian singers on the unceded and ancestral territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.Motivated by themes related to immigration, the feminine universe, identity, joy, love and colors, they combined their voices, their bodies, souls and, along with other instruments, carefully picked songs that could represent all of those themes in a sensitive way.Their work is currently composed of original and cover songs, and the genres are substantially composed by MPB (Brazilian popular music), Samba, Forro, Bossa Nova, Pop and others not labable rhythms.The team of artists is: Andrea Lobato (Guitar, Vocalist), Beta Cunha (Guitar, Vocalist), Juju Morais (Vocalist, Percussion), Mara Li (Vocalist) and some special guests.
