South East Scotland Scouts- inspires and equips young people across the Borders, Braid, Craigalmond, East Lothian, Edinburgh North East, Midlothian, and Pentland with #SkillsforLife. With over 7,000 young people aged 4-25 participating, Scouting offers adventurous, creative, and community-based activities that promote self-development, good citizenship, and inclusivity—all while having fun!Our dedicated team of nearly 2,000 adult volunteers plays a vital role in supporting young people. To ensure they feel confident and supported in their roles, we provide learning opportunities that build on their existing skills and knowledge. This structured learning includes essential, role-specific, and ongoing development, with some elements contributing to externally recognised qualifications.Through platforms like Eventbrite, we facilitate learning and safeguarding initiatives, ensuring our volunteers are well-equipped to make a lasting impact. Scouting isn’t just about young people—it’s also about the growth and development of our volunteers, helping them gain as much as they give.
