Active SchoolsOur team, funded by sportscotland, supports primary and secondary schools to increase the number and diversity of children participating in extracurricular clubs and develop pathways to improve the transition from schools to sports clubs. We provide children with these opportunities by working with schools and sports clubs, but we also need help from lots of volunteers.Why Volunteer?Working with children is fun and makes you feel good about yourself. Our volunteers play a crucial role in the success of all Active Schools initiatives. These volunteers dedicate an incredible number of hours to the programme, helping to make sure that children and young people have access to different sports, before school, at lunch time and afterschool.Recruiting, supporting, training and sustaining a network of volunteers includingpupils,coaches, leaders and teachers who in turn deliver physical activity and sport opportunities is a key role of our Active Schools staff.Active Schools is looking to expand its volunteer network and give pupils opportunities to develop skills for life and work and therefore offering numerous training opportunities each academic year.
