JUDE is the namesake fashion label of designer Jude Ng, who uses his background in fine arts and his creative upbringing in Singapore to give an original voice to his fashion work. JUDE offers a different perspective in the realm of fashion by playing with a signature asymmetry and a relaxed, gender neutral sense of tailoring.All Jude pieces are designed and handmade in Melbourne, Australia using an artisanal approach and respect for the traditional craft techniques of clothes making. Favouring the use of quality natural fibres and traditional techniques reworked in a modern way, JUDE creates innovative lifestyle pieces in unconventional shapes which will go the distance in the wearer’s wardrobe.Working from our retail space and open studio in the heart of eclectic Fitzroy in Melbourne, Jude & his small team are involved in the entire design process from start to finish. Dreaming up designs, sketching new ideas, patternmaking, fitting and final construction of sampling are all undertaken by us in our holistic space.We believe strongly in supporting the local garment industry, therefore our clothing is made ethically by our talented Melbourne based makers in limited editions. We also produce special edition clothing runs and one-of-a-kind accessories directly in our studio. Based on our zero-waste production philosophy, these pieces use the remnant materials from our main production.Quality fabrics which go the distance are a feature of our work. We source fabrics mainly from deadstock suppliers, with a focus on Italian and Japanese wools, linens, denims, cottons, bamboo and viscose. Rare vintage materials are also incorporated into the range, to create contemporary pieces with soul, telling the wearer a story of a product which is made with love.
