Dr Chris O'Shaughnessy founded the Penge Heritage Trail in 2018. He has led guided walks around Penge for many years. A small team joins hin in leading walks of their own. He worked with Bromley council funding and designing heritage pavement plaques for the Penge Heritage Trail and is at present involved in a project to create and install heritage self-cling window plaques for shops and local busineses. He also founded Penge Poets in 2015 and was instrumental in raising awareness of celebrated poet Walter de la Mare's life in the Penge area. Dr O'Shaughnessy was invited to present a peper on Walter de la Mare at the first international conference at Cambridge University in 2018. Over the years he has served on the Penge Town Team, Penge Partners and the Penge Forum.
