Miriam O'Neal's book,The Lens & The Mirror: The Life & Work of Elizabeth Rivers, is the first full length biography of British artist, Elizabeth Joyce Rivers, who lived on Aran from 1935 to 1943 in the iconic, Man of Aran Cottage and made Ireland her home for the rest of her life. O'Neal's reviews, profiles, and poetry have appeared inThe Galway Review, Los Angeles Review of Books, North Dakota Quarterly, The Tuam Herald's annual supplement, Women Who Dared, and elsewhere. Her article, "Artist & Expatriate" was published as part of the Rivers Heritage Site & Orchard, 300th Anniversary of the Rivers Nursery (http://www.rhso.co.uk/300years/articles.php?name=betty_rivers) in June 2025.
