We will help your child build confidence, bravery, and self-expression while fostering mindfulness, gratitude, and appreciation for people and the world around them. Throughproblem-solving, connecting with nature, and so much more, they’ll develop essential life skills in a supportive and enriching environment. At Roots of Wonder, we are committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and fun environment for all campers. Our goal is to create a space where everyone feels valued and safe. To support this, we ask that parents and guardians review the following camp guidelines with their children:Be Kind, Always Shine: Treat others with kindness, patience, and respect.Friendly, Not Besties: You don’t have to be friends with everyone, but you do have to be friendly!No Gossip Zones: You don’t have to like everyone, but you can’t ask others not to like them either.Don’t Yuck Someone’s Yum: If someone loves something, let them enjoy it—even if it’s not your thing!Bodies Are Private: We don’t comment on other people’s bodies—it’s their business, not ours.Mad Without Mean: It’s okay to feel angry, but it’s not okay to be mean. Take a breath and use your words kindly.Say It, Mean It: Say what you mean, and mean what you say—honesty is the best policy.“I’m Sorry” Isn’t Enough: Saying “I’m sorry” is nice, but a real apology means showing change in how you act next time.Control Your Reactions: You can’t control how others act, but you can control how you react.Listen and Learn: When someone’s talking, really listen. You might discover something wonderful!Take Care of Our Space: Respect our camp, nature, and each other by cleaning up and being gentle.Wonder, Explore, and Have Fun: This is your time to grow, play, and be curious—make the most of it!We want everyone to have a positive and enriching experience at Roots of Wonder, so please discuss these guidelines with your child before camp begins.
