Key Autism Services (KAS) provides Applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy services to bring about meaningful and positive change to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our mission is to give our clients the ability to unlock their potential. KAS is comprised of leading experts in the Autism field who are passionate about helping children grow.KAS currently provides ABA services in a variety of settings in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Texas.KAS is committed to certifying all Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) as Safety Care Specialists. Safety Care is a crisis prevention and management program developed by Quality Behavior Solutions to Complex Behavior Problems. The goals of Safety Care are to create a positive, supportive, enriched physical and social environment, teach functional alternatives to challenging behavior, prevent behavioral crises whenever possible, manage behavioral crises safely and therapeutically, minimize the intensity and duration of behavioral crises, and decrease the future likelihood of behavioral crises.The Safety Care Trainer for KAS is Hilary Collins, MS, BCBA, LABA. Hilary has been a BCBA since 2013 and has experience providing ABA services in the home, center, community, residential, and school settings both in the United States and abroad. Hilary was initially certified as a Safety Care trainer in 2015.Safety Care Class 1 focuses on the goals of Safety Care, understanding challenging behavior, and preventing and minimizing incidents of challenging behavior through practicing safety habits, and implementing differential reinforcement and de-escalation procedures. It also discusses best practice post incident procedures.Safety Care Class 2 focuses on physical safety and physical management in the work environment.All BCBAs at KAS are required to be certified as Safety Care Specialists within 90 days of employment. They are also responsible for maintaining this certification annually. On the day of your certification expiration you can no longer practice Safety Care procedures until you take a Recert class. You have a 90 day grace period from your date of certification expiration to take a Recert class. After those 90 days, you would need to take the Initial training over again. The Recert class is 6 hours and the Initial training is 12 hours.Looking forward to seeing you all in training!
