I’m Shane Koh — a historian and educator who works at the intersection of cinema, memory, and material culture. My background in History and War Studies, combined with more than a decade in the classroom, shapes how I read film posters: not as collectibles, but as cultural artefacts that reveal how societies imagine and project themselves. My talks draw from a growing collection of posters from the US, British, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Thai artistic traditions. I use them to explore the lives and afterlives of films, the changing culture of cinemas, and the ways images shape collective memory.
