Growing up and raised by a single mother in Milwaukee, WI, LaDonna Telford did not have an easy start to life. She fully understood and experienced poverty and waiting in long lines at the welfare office. While in high school, LaDonna also became a single mother at the age of sixteen. Despite the challenges she faced, LaDonna was driven to provide her daughter the best life and break her family's generational curses. LaDonna’s childhood lack has made her a great influence of giving! She preaches, teaches, and demonstrates the importance of tithing by sharing her testimony of how she gave her way out of poverty! LaDonna states, “I give not because I have so much but because I know exactly what it’s like to have nothing!”Today, LaDonna resides in Goodyear, Arizona, and is the loving wife to Pastor Frank Telford, an amazing mother and godmother, and the matriarch of a big, blended family. LaDonna has an adopted son who has autism and many other special needs. She has selflessly devoted her life to caring for him.While caring for her son, LaDonna acquired an interest in nursing and challenged herself to complete her secondary education. This was not an easy task for LaDonna because she faced her own learning disabilities! Well, she is now a nurse, providing care to patients at the most critical times in their lives. She’s also an author, writing books to encourage women of all ages about who they are and whose they are!LaDonna's ministry extends beyond her family and career, as the Telfords have become an instrumental part of their community. Recently, she’s gained another title and is now First Lady LaDonna, which many saw coming beforehand! As a woman of God, she and her family are active members of her church, Greater New Birth Phoenix. Lady LaDonna has a passion for women. She believes that women are the most precious species walking on earth, and it’s her desire to see every woman walk into the best version of themselves. One of LaDonna’s favorite quotes is, “Good women seldom make history!” So it’s her desire to make history by being found doing GOOD, helping others to realize who they really are in God and what they are capable of doing when they place God first in their lives!Once a month, she can be found running one of her outreach ministries—walking the streets of Phoenix to deliver sandwiches, soup, socks, water, blankets, scriptures, and an encouraging message to her homeless FRIENDS! She doesn’t see those living on the streets as just homeless people but as her homeless FRIENDS!LaDonna beat all the odds stacked against her after becoming a teenage mom. She is proud to say her first child is now an accomplished attorney, wife, and mother, making LaDonna her most rewarding title of them all, grandmother to her Baby Grace.Noticeably, LaDonna is passionate about her spiritual walk, her integrity, and using her voice and social media platforms to bring about change! LaDonna encourages others to not just pray about your problems but to pray through them!LaDonna believes that one of her favorite scriptures, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 KJV, is what got her this far, and one of her favorite quotes is what's going to keep her going, “She believed she could, so she did!”
