I am Isa and I want to teach you how to feel save and confident with your body and overall how to shake your butt! I have been dancing for over 8 years now and found my love for Twerk 5 years ago, since then it is my favorite thing to do. I give regular classes and host donation based workshops every month here on Eventbrite so you can get a glimpse.Twerk has given me confidence, connection to myself and other twerkers, courage to be myself and unapologetically come as I am physically and as a person. It empowered me and taught me a lot of things about my place society. I want to share that feeling with others in a save non-judgemental supportive place which is the essence of the international twerk community. The three most important things for me in Twerk Teaching are: technique, origins and roots of the moves, most importantly: enjoying our own bodies in all shapes and forms and shaking off all restrictions we have been taught throughout our lives.Feel free to have a look at myInstagram accountfor a vibe check. What is Twerk?Twerking is a dance characterized by rhythmic shaking or gyrating of the hips and booty, originating from African and Afro-diasporic traditions and popularized in mainstream culture, particularly within hip hop and rap music, it's most recent form deriving from Black LGBTQIA+ New Orleans Bounce culture. If looking closer you can find similar movements in many Afro diasporic dances like Funk Carioca (Brazilian Funk), the Perreo in Reggeaton, Brega Funk, Dancehall, Soca and more. Although the techniques and styles differ and are complex in their own it all comes down to simlar roots.
