The Tatami Center is dedicated to sharing the living tradition of Japanese tatami craftsmanship beyond Japan. We bring master tatami artisans directly from Kyoto to India to perform live crafting of complete tatami mats in front of audiences, offer hands-on mini-workshops (rush grass shimekazari wreaths and mini tatami coasters), display historical tools, and create joyful cultural moments (including Kimetsu no Yaiba costume photo corner).Our events are relaxed, drop-in style, completely free, and open to everyone, because we believe the calm, beauty, and skill of tatami should be experienced, touched, and felt, not just explained.Supported by Kyoto Prefecture.
