Vancouver Food Runners (VFR) is a Canadian registered charity founded in 2019 as a direct response to the disconnect between food waste, food insecurity, and environmental sustainability. While 46.5% of all food produced in Canada is wasted or lost each year, 1 in 5 households in B.C. are food insecure. We believe in turning surplus food into meaningful change. We create connections between local businesses, nonprofits, and volunteers to ensure surplus food reaches essential community food programs. We believe good food belongs to people, not landfills!
