Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) Trauma Services is committed to supporting healthy lives throughout British Columbia by preventing and reducing the impact of injury in the provision of exceptional, integrated trauma care, innovative education, injury prevention initiatives and research. We are the lead adult trauma centre for BC and are responsible for providing tertiary and major trauma care, including complex and specialized (quaternary) trauma services, for all British Columbians. In affiliation with the University of British Columbia (UBC), VGH is also a leader in academic programming, trauma training and research.Our team consists of physicians, nurses, therapists, allied health, military personnel, and other partners that provide the highest level of around-the-clock care for injured patients. VGH Trauma Services also provides leadership in injury prevention programs, fellowship teaching, community outreach, education, quality improvement initiatives, development of clinical practice standards and decision support tools, and trauma system planning.
