Children and Young People's Services Committees are responsible for securing better outcomes for children and young people in their area through more effective integration of existing services and interventions.Children and Young People’s Services Committees (CYPSC) are a key structure identified by Government to plan and co-ordinate services for children and young people in every county in Ireland. Their age remit spans all children and young people aged from 0 to 24 years. The purpose of the CYPSC is to ensure effective interagency co-ordination and collaboration to achieve the best outcomes for all children and young people in their area.​The county-level structures bring together a diverse group of agencies to engage in joint planning. All major organisations and agencies working locally on behalf of children and young people are represented on the CYPSC. The Committees are responsible for improving the lives of children, young people and families at local and community level by improving provision and delivery of key services.The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY) provide policy and strategic direction to CYPSC. National level operational leadership of CYPSC is provided by TUSLA – Child and Family Agency. A National Co-ordinator for CYPSC is located in TUSLA – Child and Family Agency and works closely with DCEDIY to provide leadership for CYPSC at national level and lead the implementation of the strategic plan for CYPSC.
