The Pottingers are a Belfast based indie/alt rock outfit named after the historic ‘Pottingers Entry’ connecting Ann Street to High Street in their Home town.The name was chosen when a passer by in this same alley asked a then busking quartet if they had a name. This proved to be the turning point that created the band known today.After a hiatus and line-up change, the band has burst back into the scene with their signature high energy performances and catchy hooks. They consist of Peter Keogh on Bass, Matt Hedley on Drums and backing vocals, Mícheál Kennedy on lead guitar and Niáll Thomas Curtis fronting the band with rhythm guitar and his distinctive vocals.
