The AFCEA CeVA Chapter serves the Defense and Intelligence industry in the Greater Charlottesville and Richmond areas, supporting a network of large and small businesses, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC), the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), and the U.S. Army.Coffee & CommunityWe host Coffee & Community meetups each month—on the 2nd Friday in Richmond and the 4th Friday in Charlottesville—to foster discussions on hot topics in the federal sector. These informal gatherings provide a space for professionals to connect, share insights, and engage with the latest trends shaping the industry.Quarterly LuncheonsOur quarterly luncheons feature distinguished speakers, including senior executives from DIA, NGIC, and Army INSCOM, as well as experts from academia and industry. Topics span cybersecurity, biometrics, ISR, data science, big data, and emerging threats and capabilities. We also spotlight local small businesses, giving them greater visibility within the defense and intelligence community.Data-Centric Summit (DCS)Our premier annual event, the Data-Centric Summit (DCS), brings together data experts from the public sector, industry, and academia. The 2024 event featured C-suite executives from the Department of Energy (DOE), Navy, Army, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), University of Virginia (UVA), and more!STEM Scholarships & GrantsWe are committed to fostering the next generation of STEM leaders. Our chapter awards STEM teaching grants to local educators and scholarships to women, minorities, and students pursuing careers in STEM-related fields.We look forward to seeing you at our next event!
