Alison Cortes

Alison Cortes is a multi-disciplinary artist working and residing in Buffalo, New York with a focus in textiles, sculpture, and installation. She graduated from The University at Buffalo in 2021 with a BA in Art History. She has previously worked at UB Art Galleries, as well as holding the position of Events Coordinator and Curator of Exhibitions at FITZ Books & Waffles from 2022 through early 2024. Alison also has experience working as an Art Instructor at Aspire of WNY. She has completed a residency at HUNT Art Gallery from 2023-2024, and recently exhibited an installation as part of the Burchfield Penney’s STAY GOLD 2025 Art Party. Additionally, she hosts an inclusive monthly coworking meetup called Textile Tuesday, with the initiative to create community amongst Buffalo textile artists. She continues to seek and create opportunities to utilize her passion for the arts and art history, whilst pursuing her career as a creative in several different mediums.
