About the Event“Amsterdam Comes Together” is an event to show how when individual people come together in a community, we can all contribute towards something really beautiful. Everyone has something different to offer, and that’s what’s incredible about it. Maybe someone’s way of giving is by leading a run, another person’s way is DJing, and for another person it’s cooking something. There’s no “one size fits all”, and we don’t want there to be. The most special moments are when everyone comes together authentically, just as they are, and that’s when you see that it all fits together.Why We Are Hosting This EventHurricane Melissa just hit the Caribbean in October 2025. Several of us are from the Caribbean, and this is something that deeply affected us all. Although we are not from the countries directly affected by the hurricane, we feel solidarity for those affected by Hurricane Melissa, and we want to do something to help. So we thought, why not?Our MissionOur mission is to show how, when a community comes together, we can accomplish truly beautiful things. Sometimes there are a lot of things going on in this world that we want to change, and it’s hard to figure out how to make a difference. We hope that through this event, we can show you that you have your own unique skills and gifts that you can use to help others and bring positive change to people’s lives in ways you may not have thought of before.
