Chrissy Cheung

Chrissy Cheung is a contemporary abstract painter and drawer based in Vancouver.She grew up in Toronto and became interested in art at the age of seven. She studied at Concordia University, Montreal, completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2000. She contributed to the Salon des Arts at the 2008 Osheaga Festival. Her solo exhibitions includeStructured Abstractions, at the 2 of 2 Gallery, Toronto;Stairway, at Galerie LSB, Montreal; andDessins contemporains, at Maison de la Culture Plateau Mont-Royal, Montreal. In 2019, her work was exhibited at the Reveal International Contemporary Art Fair in Saratoga Springs, New York and the Market Art and Design Fair in Bridgehampton, New York.Her abstract paintings are featured at the Signature Mazda dealership in Richmond, BC and at the Gyro Mazda dealership in East York, Toronto. These projects exemplify Chrissy’s increased focus on finding public-art contexts for her work.Chrissy’s work is part of the Ville de Montréal Collection, as well as private collections across Canada, the US, Denmark, and China.As a director, Chrissy is the founder of the PAINTER8 Arts Society. Painter8 was recently reviewed in the Vancouver Guardian online magazine.
