Dana Andrews is the heart and soul behind Mountain Yoga Center in Big Bear Lake, California. A passionate and dedicated yoga teacher, Dana discovered yoga in 1995 while navigating the pressures of college life and a part-time job. What began as a tool to manage stress quickly blossomed into a lifelong journey of self-discovery and healing.In 2002, Dana began teaching at Yoga Place/YogaWorks in Orange County after earning her certification from the prestigious Ashtanga Yoga Center under the guidance of internationally respected teacher, Tim Miller. Her devotion to the practice led her to India multiple times, where she had the honor of studying with legendary Ashtanga master Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, as well as his daughter, Saraswathi Jois, and grandson, R. Sharath Jois.After moving to the tranquil mountains of Big Bear in 2013, Dana opened Mountain Yoga Center in 2015—creating a sanctuary where students of all levels could come to move, breathe, and reconnect.In 2017, she further expanded her knowledge and teaching approach by completing a 200-hour Vinyasa teacher training through Yoga Medicine with renowned teacher Tiffany Cruikshank. This blend of classical and modern training shines through in her classes, which are thoughtfully designed to balance strength, flexibility, and mindfulness.Dana’s teaching style emphasizes breath-linked movement, creating a fluid, meditative flow that cultivates both inner peace and physical vitality. Her classes are welcoming, inclusive, and adaptable—whether you’re stepping onto the mat for the first time or deepening a long-time practice.Her mission is simple yet powerful: to help students manage everyday stress, shift their mindset, and leave each class feeling calm, clear, and energized.Dana will be leading the Chateau Big Bear 3 Day Yoga Retreats .
