Dive Bar Disco organises raves in dive bars. With roots deep in the Melbourne underground, stretching back to the 90s, we showcase seminal artists alongside contemporary and emerging talent.To us, dive bars are blank canvases, akin to the warehouses of the mid-90s to early 2000s rave scene. This was a time when musicians, visual artists and dancers co-created exhilarating shared experiences, largely free from commercial constraints and the shackles of bureaucracy. It was art, music and expression in their most pure, raw forms.It was community.It was freedom.It was therapy.It was unhinged, it was debauched, and it was hilarious.Above all, it was, quite simply, fun.And to have fun for the sake of it is a revolutionary act.Dive Bar Disco echoes and amplifies this energy. Our parties are a call to those who were there, and an invitation to the next generation.
