Divine Yoga

Divine Yoga offers Gong and Crystal Bowl Sound Healing Events monthly. All sound healing events are produced by experienced facilitators, are 1 hour and 30 min. and include pranayam (breathwork) or beginner friendly yoga warmups. Both Gong and Crystal Bowl events help balance the chakras, reduce stress and improve sleep. Attendees bring a yoga mat and warm blanket, water is optional. Attendees may rent a yoga mat for $1.00 from the studio. Refreshments served at the end of all events. For maximum benefits it is recommended to attend a Sound Healing 1 - 2 times per month.Gong EventsGong events consist of 3 experienced gong players and 3 gongs each a different size with different tones and resonances all blending together to produce a rich symphony of sound, profound relaxation and deep healing in the mind, body and soul. Regenerating the parasympathetic nervous system, gong baths slow the body down, producing calm so the body has time to repair itself. The immune system is also strengthened as the body repairs itself in a relaxed state. Gong baths are highly rejuvenating for the body and bring about an overall sense of relaxation, reducing stress, increase ability to cope with stress, help move emotional blockages from trauma, and even stimulate altered states of consciousness.Crystal Bowl EventsCrystal Bowl events include 1 experienced quartz crystal singing bowl player, a wide assortment of quartz crystal bowls and other sound healing instruments. Benefits include reduced stress and anxiety, improved sleep quality, and increased focus and clarity. Emerging research suggests sound therapy may lower stress hormones, improve mood, and reduce pain. Studies have shown that singing bowls can produce physiological and psychological responses, reducing negative affect and increasing positive affect, as well as improving blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate.About The StudioDivine Yoga is San Antonio’s first and only Kundalini Yoga studio, offering events and yoga classes. No previous yoga experience necessary.Owner BioAmrit Kaur Khalsa, a native San Antonian, is owner and Co-Director of Divine Yoga with her husband, Mhan Rishi. Amrit is a KRI Certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor, graduate of the Master's Touch certification program and member of the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association, 3HO, Texas Yoga Association and Yoga Alliance. Amrit has ERYT-500 status (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher), the highest status offered through Yoga Alliance. Amrit has decades of teaching experience instructing students in the art and science of Kundalini Yoga. Her wisdom, experience, humor and practical, interactive approach maximizes each participant’s experience.Amrit, has been teaching, serving and helping people heal on all levels through the healing technology of Kundalini Yoga since 1994. In 2006, Amrit established Divine Yoga as the first and only Kundalini Yoga studio built from the ground up, in San Antonio. Amrit made several memorable yatras (spiritual journeys) to India including the Golden Temple and Anandphur Sahib. Amrit enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience of over 30 years walking the path of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan.
