Dr. Erica Tatum-Sheade is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor™, and passionate advocate for youth mental health, empowerment, and representation in therapy spaces. With over 15 years of clinical experience, Dr. Erica is known for her engaging, down-to-earth approach to mental wellness and her commitment to supporting the next generation of mental health professionals.She is the creator of the G.E.M.S. Model of Empowerment™, a framework used in her signature groups G.E.M.S.® (Girls Empowered, Motivated, and Strong) and Rooted®, which provide culturally affirming spaces for girls to build self-esteem, identity, and leadership skills.A sought-after speaker, trainer, and supervisor, Dr. Erica also serves on several boards and is the founder of Play Well with Dr. Erica, a clinical training and supervision program supporting clinicians working toward their RPT™ credential.Whether she’s in the playroom, the classroom, or the community, Dr. Erica leads with heart, humor, and the belief that every child deserves to be seen, heard, and empowered.
