Each Other’s Business was born from a deep friendship and a shared commitment to community, care, and literature. Co-owners Amethyst Jones and Korie Griggs first connected over their mutual love for books and a calling to live by the principle that we are each other’s business—a powerful truth passed down by the great Gwendolyn Brooks. What began as conversations about healing, mutual aid, and generational wisdom quickly grew into a collective vision: a bookstore that reflects the world they long to build—one rooted in love, liberation, and learning together. As organizers, authors, and community care practitioners, Amethyst and Korie understand the sacredness of storytelling. They’ve seen how books can nourish, awaken, and unite people across differences. Their friendship is built not only on shared values, but on the joy of passing books back and forth, watching them return a little more loved, and a little more powerful. That spirit lives on in Each Other’s Books, the first Asian, Black, Indigenous, and female-owned bookstore in Indiana—an extension of their larger cooperative vision. Rooted inside Mochi Joy, this bookshop is more than a place to buy books; it’s a space of welcome, reflection, and connection. Every shelf holds stories that honor survival, creativity, justice, and joy. Every corner invites you to slow down, read deeply, and remember that you are not alone.Whether you’re looking for a good book, a healing conversation, or a space where your presence matters, Each Other’s Books is here for you. Because we believe in going farther—together
