Kayla Lyman is the founder of Helix Fitness for Caregivers. She is also the devoted caregiver to her son, Phineas, who lives with FoxG1 Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. Now 10 years old, Phineas is nonverbal and has significant physical and developmental disabilities. In 2020, Kayla became a single mother and realized she needed to build both her physical and mental strength to best care for her son. She turned to rock climbing and strength training, discovering the profound impact fitness had on her resilience and well-being. Motivated by her journey, Kayla made it her mission to learn everything she could about fitness and caregiving, with the goal of helping other caregivers in similar situations become as strong, healthy, and empowered as possible.
