Mitochondrial Innovation Initiative

The Mitochondrial Innovation Initiative (MITO2i) was established as an Institutional Strategic Initiative (ISI) at the University of Toronto in March 2020. The creation of MITO2i was based on the fundamental problem that the role of mitochondria in health and disease is poorly understood, and there is a lack of biomarkers and treatments for mitochondria disease and diseases with underlying mitochondrial dysfunction.
