Through theater, dance, music, fine art, and interactive performances, we help children and youth build important life skills — such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and self-expression — in a positive and supportive environment.About The Star TheatreOur History and MissionFounded in 2009 by two sisters, The Star Theatre was created to revive the tradition of live Christmas performances and introduce young audiences to the rich world of folklore and fairy tales. Since its inception, the theatre has provided children and youth with meaningful opportunities to explore the performing arts, develop confidence, and engage creatively with storytelling.Through our productions, The Star Theatre fosters community engagement by making theatre accessible to audiences of all ages, inspiring imagination, and cultivating an appreciation for the arts. Our performances not only entertain but also serve as educational experiences, broadening cultural awareness and encouraging empathy, creativity, and collaboration among young performers.We are committed to nurturing the next generation of artists while enriching the cultural life of our community, offering transformative experiences that combine artistic excellence with personal growth.Our VisionWe strive to enrich the cultural life of Calgary by empowering young artists and fostering a lifelong passion for the performing arts.
