Pastor Shelley Morrison, a native Ohioan, attended Kent State University (Kent, Ohio) and Bennett College (Greensboro, NC), studying sociology and political science. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree, she received her law degree from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law (Houston, TX).After working as a trial attorney in the medical malpractice defense field, Ms. Morrison served as the Director of Human Resources for one of the fasted growing municipalities in the state of Tennessee. In this capacity, she oversaw the recruitment, training, benefits administration, compensation and employee relations for almost 300 employees in a city with a population of over 60,000. She was the first person to hold this position for the City, the first black female department head, and the only African-American leading a City Department. She also enjoys legal consulting work with Christian ministries and non-profits.In 2008, Ms. Morrison was licensed an Evangelist in the Church of God in Christ. She served in various capacities, including Co-Director of Jurisdictional Young Adult Ministry, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Director, Choir Member, etc. In 2011, the evangelist launched Sisters of Standard (S.O.S.), a non-profit para-church Christian ministry whose purpose is to tell of the Titus 2:3-5 mandate, and teach that for which it calls: holiness, honesty, temperance and sobriety. She recognizes the unique mandate for women as watch (wo)men on the walls, gatekeepers and nation builders … and above all Standard Bearers. The S.O.S. mission is to equip with the tools, the teaching and the training to empower women everywhere to fulfill their purpose. Through S.O.S., Evangelist Morrison hosts Women’s Weekend, an annual conference which now travels to various states and cities. For over 15 years, the free event has hosted women speakers from across the country.In January 2021, Pastor Shelley launched The Remnant (Church) serving Middle Tennessee from two locations: Columbia and Murfreesboro. In addition to weekly prayer, bible study and worship gatherings in both locations, the ministry also feeds the homeless and food insecure, as well as hosts tent revival meetings throughout the region.Pastor Shelley's high calling and first ministry is as a mother to both her natural and spiritual children. She enjoys traveling, having engaged in missions work in both Guyana South America and Kenya, West Africa, and reading.
