Salsa Pittsburgh, LLC

Salsa Pittsburgh was created in October 2000 by Jeff & Colleen Shirey. They have been teaching and promoting salsa events since 1999. Jeff was the Pittsburgh Cityguides Correspondent for salsaweb.com from 1999 to 2008, then established salsapittsburgh.com in 2008 as a way to provide salsa dancing related information to the local salsa dance community. Jeff & Colleen teach several six-week cycle classes in Salsa and Bachata at the Wightman School Community Building (22 years running). Jeff deejays Latin music on a monthly basis at Hard Rock Cafe, Kingfly Spirits, J&D Cellars (Washington County). Jeff & Colleen were the hosts of Salsa Fridays at Greer Cabaret Theater, a Pittsburgh Cultural Trust event that lasted 11+ years. The Shireys have also organized over 30 large-scale salsa dance/workshop weekends that have showcased the talents of many international salsa professionals and world champions
