And that was the impetus for the Solange Film Festival, which will elevate voices that deserve to be heard.Solange is a Latin word derived from “sol,” which means sun, and “ange,” which means angel. Over the years the French have adopted it as a name meaning dignity or solemness. We hope to inspire and challenge our audience by giving attention to films that tell overlooked stories with dignity, respect and compassionBecause the stories we tell really do shape our world. And the Solange Film Festival can be an influential platform to share them.
