Soroptimist International of Lincoln: Empowering Women and GirlsAt Soroptimist, we are united by a common goal: to invest in women and girls by providing them with the resources they need to achieve economic empowerment. Based in Lincoln, California, our initiatives are designed to uplift and inspire women at all stages of their journeys. Some of our key projects include:Soroptimist Live Your Dream Award®Each year, we award at least one $1,000 Soroptimist Live Your Dream Award to a deserving woman who is striving to improve her life and the lives of those around her. The award helps recipients offset costs associated with education or training, providing them with the opportunity to enhance their employment prospects, increase their earning potential, and build greater self-esteem. These women also serve as positive role models for their children. The strength and determination of our awardees continue to inspire us every day.Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls®Dream It, Be It targets girls who face significant challenges, such as poverty and unstable home lives, by providing them with the tools to make informed choices and create plans for their futures. This program not only gives girls hope and confidence but also equips them with the skills they need to pursue their dreams. By reaching girls at a young age, we help ensure their safety and well-being in the short term, while also working to reduce the number of women facing crises in the future. For the past two years, we've hosted the Soroptimist Dream It! Be It! event, where local girls meet with mentors to gain practical insights into achieving their career and life goals. We are proud to help guide these bright, ambitious young women toward realizing their dreams and setting them on a path to success.High School Senior ScholarshipsIn partnership with local high schools, we provide college scholarships to graduating seniors. Last year, we raised $10,000, which enabled us to award ten $1,000 scholarships to students across three Lincoln high schools.
