Swerve Outreachis a non-profit, operating year-round, in Eastern Polk County. The mission of Swerve Outreach is to inspire and guide young people to reach their full potential and to help themSWERVEaround the obstacles of life by providing them with healthy opportunities. In collaboration with our community and local schools, we are helping to provide children with their basic needs so that they might have a brighter future.Altoona Kids Cafeis a program of Swerve Outreach. Kids Cafe is an official USDA Summer Food Service Program operating for 6-weeks during June and July. In 2018, Kids Cafe served 4,250 meals to children 18 and under who attended the program, at no cost to them. Kids Cafe is more than just a meal. Each day we offer a variety of fun learning opportunities and enrichment activities along with a healthy lunch. With a focus on healthy living, academic achievement, and life skills, we are feeding the future.Swerve Outreach also provides assistance to SE Polk students and families throughout the year through theirTools 4 Schoolbackpack and school supply assistance program and theirKids Cafe Caresprogram providing clothes, coats, shoes, and essentials to students in need.
