The Alliance of Black Scientific COE Directors

The Alliance of Black Scientific Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) Directors ("The Alliance")comprises Deputy/Associate Directors from13 different NCI Comprehensive Cancer Centers.Our Visionis an NCI Cancer Center ecosystem where COE influences the conduct of research and all efforts to reduce the burden of cancer in catchment areas across the country. The combined Catchment Area served by Alliance members covers 16 states and territories. Every demographic population (e.g. Black, Latino, Asian, Pacific Islander, American Indian, rural, LGBTQ, low SES) is included in this combined, defined geography.Our Missionis to share best practices and strategies that address inequities in cancer research, prevention, early detection, treatment and survivorship; to expand community capacity for participation in all aspects of cancer research and care; and to train the next generation of COE leaders for sustainability of our efforts to achieve cancer equity.The target audience for this conferenceincludes patient advocates, community partners, future leaders, and COE professionals—such as physicians, nurses, social workers, community health educators, navigators, Cancer Center leaders and administrators.
