University Hospitals of Leicester Imaging

Imaging Clinical Practice Educators are hosting this event. We ensure that all Diagnostic Radiography students have the opportunity for hands on experience to put what they have been taught at university into practice, in an inclusive, supportive safe environment. The team works closely with universities, having regular meetings with academic staff to ensure we all work together for the benefit of the students and ensure patient centered care. As part of this role, we offer pastoral support recognising the many challenges the student faces in the training. We create an individual placement for each student that ensures over the three years all students have access to the many imaging departments to complete their placement portfolio, that comprise UHL (University Hospitals of Leicester). The team regularly undertakes clinical teaching and debrief sessions with all students to ensure the individual is meeting their targets and professional expectations, ready for HCPC registration.
