About

Founded in 2023 following the relocation of the South Shore Lumberjacks from Bridgewater, NS, the franchise was rebranded as the West Kent Steamers. They now play their home games at the 1,100‑seat J.K. Irving Centre in Bouctouche.Drawing inspiration from Bouctouche’s historic steamboat heritage, the name “Steamers” honors the maritime vessels that once transported goods and communities across New Brunswick.Competing in the highly competitive MHL, the Steamers offer rising talents a platform to advance to higher levels such as the QMJHL, U Sports, or NCAA. Irving de Bouctouche, qui compte 1 100 sièges.S’inspirant de l’héritage historique des bateaux à vapeur de Bouctouche, le nom « Steamers » rend hommage aux navires maritimes qui transportaient autrefois des marchandises et reliaient les communautés à travers le Nouveau-Brunswick.Évoluant dans la très compétitive Ligue de hockey junior des Maritimes (MHL), les Steamers offrent aux jeunes talents une plateforme leur permettant de progresser vers des niveaux supérieurs tels que la LHJMQ, U Sports ou la NCAA.
