Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. - Theta Zeta Zeta Chapter
The Theta Zeta Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was chartered on December 5, 1975 by seven phenomenal women who wanted to implement more of the national initiatives and programs locally in Kent and Sussex Counties in Delaware. Over 40 years later, the impact of their decision has help create the Storks Nest partnership with Bayhealth Hospital and the March of Dimes, mentoring programs for young girls ages 4 to 18 years old in the Zeta Youth Auxiliaries called the Pearlettes (4-8), Amicettes (9-13) and the Archonettes (14-18), and the adult auxiliary called the Zeta Amicae of Dover who all work alongside the members during community service and advocacy programs.The Theta Zeta Zeta Chapter is also an organizational member of the Central Delaware Alumni Council of the National Pan Hellenic Council, Inc. working with divine Greek-lettered organzations.Zeta Phi Beta was founded on the campus of Howard University on January 16, 1920. The Sorority's international programs such as Z-HOPE (Zetas Helping Other People Excel) through Mind, Body and Spirit serve to empower people from all walks of life. As the sorority moves towards its centennial, it retains its original zest for excellence. It espouses the highest academic ideals and that has resulted in members serving in groundbreaking roles in all fields of endeavor. The founding principles continue to be Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood.
