We have the games day on Saturday and a concert on Friday and our goal is to help bring some of the rich history and traditions of Scotland to Cambridge, Ontario. Our Games Day on Saturday features Mass Bands and a Mass Fling, piping & drumming competitions with over 150 competitors and highland dance competitions with over 250 dancers. You will also have the opportunity to watch the ever-popular Heavy Events like the caber toss, hammer throw and shot put. Also not to be missed are the Tug of War competitions.Opportunities to learn about the different Scottish clans and maybe even discover your own Socttish background at our genealogy booth. We have historical re-enactments with a Jacobite army, a blacksmith, and even a highland cattle to help you learn more about Scotland's rich history.Of course the fun doesn't end there! For the adults we have a beer garden and scotch tasting. The wee ones will have fun at our children's glen complete with trains, slides, and bouncy castles. This year the Friday night concert will feature the celtic rock sounds of The American Rogues and The Mudmen with opening act Tom Keefer and a Highland Dance demonstration. The Cambridge Scottish Festival started in 1975 and moved to Churchill Park in 1987 where we have been celebrating Scotland ever since.
