The Irish and family roots run deep at Moran’s Pub, which has grown into one of the Milwaukee area’s top taverns, chosen as Best Sports Bar, Best Bar to Watch Soccer, and Best Trivia Night by the “Shepherd Express” in 2023. Founded in 1995 in a historic building in downtown South Milwaukee, Moran’s celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2025. It is now in its second generation of ownership behind James Moran – named the Best Bartender in Milwaukee, although he prefers “Most Okayest.” The pub, which has a 4.7-star Google rating, is consistently recognized as a great place to watch the big game, from the Packers, Brewers, Badgers and Bucks to international soccer, and its special events include a unique weeks-long “St. Patrick’s Day’s” celebration, viewing parties, and pop-up pubs. The Moran’s hand-crafted cocktail menu is inspired by his family’s Irish homeland, and each year James returns to his roots with patrons on trips to the United Kingdom.
