BeYond Expectations Community Outreach (BECO)was founded in 2010, our mission is to create a healthier community by addressing food insecurity, increasing food accessibility, building collaborations, advocating, educating, and empowering self-sufficiency.Our mission is twofold: to address food insecurity within our community and to empower individuals towards self- sufficiency and sustainability. We believe through community support and access to resources; we can build a healthier and more resilient community.We primarily focus on serving families and individuals experiencing hunger and food insecurities, with emphasis on supporting our most vulnerable population - children and seniors. Through our programs, we aim to provide more than a bag of food but the tools, resources, and knowledge to break the cycle of poverty and achieve lasting change.OUR PROGRAMSKidz Backpack Buddy Programis designed to address food insecurity during the weekends for children ages 3 to 11. Each Friday, participating students receive a bag filled with nutritious meals and snacks to empower them to focus on learning and development without the worry of hunger over the weekend.Senior Monthly Food Bag Distributionis designed to address the dietary gaps of low to limited income seniors in our community.Community Resources Programsaddresses the underlying causes of food insecurity. We believe in offering a "Hand-Up" rather than a handout, empowers individuals to overcome challenges and achieve sustainable, long-term self-sufficiency.S & M Russell County Scholarship Fundoffering graduating high school students who reside in rural areas of Russell County the opportunity to pursue higher education. This Scholarship aim to support students based on financial need, academic excellence, and a commitment to community service.
