The Bender Autonomous Robotics Team at Boise State University is a student-led robotics team competing in NASA’s Lunabotics Challenge. Comprised of multidisciplinary students from engineering, computer science, and other STEM backgrounds, the team is focused on designing, building, and programming a robot capable of navigating and excavating simulated lunar terrain.2024–2025 marks the team’s first year competing at Lunabotics, and they've embraced the challenge by designing a brand-new robot from the ground up. Throughout the year, Team Bender has held formal design reviews, collaborated with industry professionals, and conducted rigorous subsystem testing to ensure their robot is competition-ready.Beyond technical excellence, the team prioritizes collaboration, innovation, and community. Their mission is not only to compete at a national level but also to inspire the next generation of engineers and problem-solvers through open-source design, public showcases, and student-led outreach.Team Bender is proud to represent Boise State at NASA's Kennedy Space Center and is grateful for the support of the university, mentors, and sponsors who have helped make this journey possible.
