Farmstrong Scotland is a wellbeing initiative, replicating the successfulFarmstrong New Zealand, setup nearly 8 years ago.The initiative is designed by farmers for farmers, to provide the resources and proven tools that farmers might need to manage their own wellbeing when faced with challenges that are often hard to predict, or control, from fluctuation commodity prices and the weather, to changing government legislation and market pressures.It has derived from a successful tour of events in 2018, when inspiring farmer Doug Avery attended Scotland to share his story of depression, with nearly 2000 individuals across the country.Over the last 18-months a voluntary steering committee, noted below, have been working to develop a business and funding plan, to launch Farmstrong Scotland in 2023, with the support of Farmstrong New Zealand.Thank to support from Movember, who will be match funding every £1 for £1 up to the value of £700,000, and funding support from RHASS, NFU Mutual Charitable Trust, Scottish Rural Network, and many others, the project has now secured enough funds to launch.
