Shelly was born in Trinidad and moved to the United States as a young woman and fell in love with fitness, bodybuilding and living a healthy lifestyle. After living on both the east and west coast, Shelly finally settled in central Virginia, near Richmond. Shelly has one son, Travis, and is happily married to her husband, Thomas. In 2022, Shelly became affiliated with natural bodybuilding federation NANBF (North American Natural Bodybuilding Federation) and the IPE (International Pro Elite) and is their exclusive promoter for bodybuilding competition shows in Virginia and Florida. Shelly is also a certified Judge in the NANBF, IPE and WNBF. Shelly is available for online training for anyone interested in getting healthier up to bodybuilders who need a trainer for their next show. Shelly competed in the NPC (National Physique Committee) for over 20 years winning numerous championships across the United States.
