Strangers in The City is a try-it-out series of events and conversations designed to combat loneliness by centring play, bringing together adults who feel the pressures of loneliness in a post-pandemic, officeless world. Our new lifestyles have made making new friendships in adulthood even harder, and on a planet of 8 billion, loneliness should be the last of our worries.Though it may come as a shock, millennials and Gen-Z are the loneliest generations. Despite being so accessible to each other, we feel more distant than ever. Making and maintaining new friendships can be difficult; few spaces exist specifically for us to foster new relationships.Harking back to the childhood curiosity we’ve lost over time, these events are about getting people together to make new friends and try new things. It’s also about exploring new venues and fun activities around the city, and hopefully finding a new hobby to continue going forward.
