Her lived experienced from childhood in the mountains of Puerto Rico and her experience in the field on the mainland, Maria del Carmen has honed her skills in various sound healing modalities, including sound baths, sound therapy, and vibrational medicine.Driven by a genuine desire to help others, Maria del Carmen combines her knowledge of sound healing techniques with a compassionate and intuitive approach to create a safe and nurturing space for clients to embark on their healing journey. She believes that sound has the ability to harmonize the mind, body, and spirit, and works with clients to restore balance and promote self-healing.Aside from her lived experience with her elders, Maria del Carmen has received extensive training and certifications in sound healing from reputable institutions, ensuring that she is equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide effective and transformative healing experiences. She continuously expands her expertise by attending workshops, seminars, and conferences to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field. Maria del Carmen is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in Metaphysical Science in Natural Medicine at Holistic Professionals of Color UniversityIn her sound healing sessions, Maria del Carmen utilizes a variety of instruments, including crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, buffalo and ocean drums, chimes and other instruments, carefully selecting and playing them to create a harmonious and therapeutic environment. She tailors each session to the unique needs and preferences of her clients, allowing for a personalized and deeply transformative experience.Through her work as a sound healer practitioner, Maria del Carmen has witnessed the profound impact that sound healing can have on individuals, helping them release emotional blockages, reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep, enhance creativity, and promote overall well-being. She is committed to empowering their clients to take an active role in their healing process and provide guidance and support throughout their journey.In addition to her private practice with her life partner, Maria del Carmen also conducts group sound healing sessions in a variety of venues from nonprofit organizations, corporations, universities, yoga studios, assisted living centers, community centers, conferences, large public group settings to small private groups, individual sessions and special events. She facilitates standard sound healing sessions in Farmington, Windsor and Windsor Locks locations in CT. In 2023 she was invited to provide a sound healing session at The Shift Network a global stage with world-renowned holistic healers and practitioners. Maria del Carmen is preparing her practice to specialize in maternal sound therapy and end of life sound therapy. An essential part of her mission is to educate and bring awareness and benefits of sound healing to the BIPOC community. She’s begun this work by offering sessions at black owned businesses from a Gallery, museum, Black sorority, and partnering with The Collective Space in Windsor where she offers African rooted sound healing sessions. She believes in the power of community and the collective healing that can be achieved through shared experiences.Maria del Carmen is dedicated to creating a world where sound healing is recognized and embraced as a powerful modality for healing and self-discovery throughout the medical mainstream. She understands first hands how sound healing can heal trauma as she herself attended the curated sound healing sessions to heal from her own sensitive transformational period.With her compassionate nature, extensive knowledge, and profound understanding of the transformative power of sound, Maria del Carmen is a trusted and skilled sound healer practitioner, ready to guide individuals on their path to healing and self-discovery.Maria del Carmen currently serves as Vice President of National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communication (NAMIC), she served as Vice President of the Windsor Junior Woman’s Club, serves as a Board of Directors for the Arts for the Soul Gallery, was a recipient of the 2018 100 Women of Color award in recognition of the contributions of women of color in business, education, entrepreneurship, entertainment, and government. She was presented with the 2019 Windsor Bridge-Builder award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to human relations by encouraging equal opportunities for all people. She has earned four citations and recognized in proclamations for her community work.Maria del Carmen nourishes her mind, body, and soul holistically by practicing her gift of sound healing, having a clean diet, she’s trained to run half marathons the last decade, feeds her mind with books that enriches her holistic lifestyle, journaling, she’s an actress and an aspiring playwright and in 2017 she launched a local talk show, GyrlSense, where she provides a platform for women of all backgrounds and ages to demonstrate their career, talent, skills, or tell their story. She’s had guests from female pilots, bank executives, entertainers, and everything in between. This is her continued way of keeping women empowerment in the forefront.
